Limited coating warranty
The standard TSP Coatings limited workmanship warranty for protective coating work — what's covered, what isn't, and how claims work.
This is the standard TSP Coatings limited coating warranty. The specific warranty period and any project-specific terms are stated in the proposal or quote for your project, which govern where they differ from this page.
Warranty period
Unless a different period is stated in your proposal, TSP Coatings provides a 24-month limited workmanship warranty from the date of substantial completion.
What is covered
We warrant that the coating work described in your proposal or quote was applied in a workmanlike manner using the specified coating system. Within the warranty period, we will address coating defects attributable solely to our workmanship — for example, adhesion failure caused by an application error on a sound, properly prepared substrate.
What is not covered
- Deterioration caused by substrate condition, hidden corrosion, or structural defects
- Failure arising from surface-preparation limitations disclosed at assessment (areas that could not be fully prepared due to access, active corrosion, or existing coating condition)
- Damage from water intrusion, chemical exposure, abrasion, impact, or service conditions beyond those anticipated in the scope
- Failure of, or interaction with, existing or previous coatings not applied by TSP Coatings
- Ordinary wear, weathering, UV fade, or lack of maintenance
- Alterations, repairs, or coatings applied by others after completion
- Movement, flexing, or dissimilar-material expansion beyond the coating system's design
Surface and substrate limitations
Coating performance depends heavily on substrate condition. TSP Coatings makes no guarantee as to the underlying condition, remaining life, or structural integrity of any substrate. Where substrate limitations are identified, coating is applied as a protective measure only and does not warrant the substrate itself.
Water and chemical exposure
Coatings exposed to standing water, chemical treatment, or aggressive service environments perform within the limits of the specified system. This warranty does not extend to failures caused by exposure beyond the system's rated service conditions.
Existing coatings
Where new coating is applied over existing coatings, adhesion depends on the condition and compatibility of the existing coating, which cannot be fully verified. Failures originating in underlying layers are not covered.
Maintenance and customer responsibilities
You are responsible for reasonable maintenance, prompt reporting of damage, keeping assets within their intended service conditions, and following any maintenance recommendations we provide. Failure to maintain voids this warranty for the affected area.
Inspection and claims
Claims must be submitted in writing to Info@TSPcoatings.com within 30 days of discovery, with photos and a description. We will inspect the affected area before determining any remedy.
Remedy limitation
The sole remedy under this warranty is repair or recoating of the affected area, at TSP Coatings's discretion. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and total liability shall not exceed the value of the coating work performed on the affected asset.
No implied guarantee of substrate condition
Nothing in this warranty guarantees that a coated asset will not require future repair or replacement. Coatings extend service life; they do not make substrates permanent.
Manufacturer product warranty
Any manufacturer product warranty is separate from this workmanship warranty and is provided directly by the product manufacturer, subject to their terms.
