Rooftop HVAC & Equipment Coatings
Rooftop HVAC & Mechanical Equipment Coatings
Rooftop HVAC cabinets and mechanical equipment live in the harshest exposure a building offers. Recoating the exterior protects the asset and extends its usable life.
Sun, rain, freeze-thaw, and standing moisture wear coatings down, steel rusts, and units age out early. We assess the equipment exterior, address existing rust and coating failure through proper surface preparation, and apply a project-appropriate direct-to-metal system.
Our approach
We may specify a direct-to-metal (DTM) epoxy for manually prepared steel, rooftop equipment, pipe supports, bolted connections, and atmospheric corrosion protection — subject to manufacturer guidance and substrate condition. This is gray-space, non-critical work: exterior and support infrastructure, not internal coils or critical systems.
What we cover
- HVAC cabinets and housings
- Dry cooler and chiller exteriors
- Pipe supports, racks, and access steel
- Platforms, curbs, and railings
- Atmospheric corrosion protection with DTM systems
Coating systems
Project-appropriate systems, manufacturer-guided
We work with project-appropriate coating systems and may specify products such as ErgonArmor/Novocoat DTM systems where suitable, subject to manufacturer guidance, substrate condition, and project requirements.
- System selection based on inspection and confirmed before work begins
- PDS/SDS provided for the systems specified on each project
- Environmental conditions logged during application
- Before/after documentation and a maintenance recommendation
